The Halton Equity and Diversity Roundtable (HEDR) wants to encourage the participation of all groups and individuals who represent all aspects of diversity including but not limited to race, culture, socio-economic status, ethnicity, nationality, age, language, sexual orientation, skin colour, gender, physical or mental abilities.

The Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI), and CCDI Consulting are made-in-Canada solutions designed to help employers, diversity and inclusion/human rights/equity, and human resources practitioners effectively address the full picture of diversity, equity and inclusion within the workplace.

Diversity and inclusion are cornerstones of Canadian identity, a source of social and economic strength, and something of which all Canadians can be proud. However, even in an open and diverse society like ours, we know that there are still very real challenges. Building a Foundation for Change requires us to first acknowledge that there is a problem we need to address.

Racism and racial discrimination take many forms and impact key aspects of life. Impacts could include the ability to find a job, get an education, have equal access to healthcare, or get fair treatment in a court of law. Racism, xenophobia and related discrimination and intolerance exist in all societies, everywhere. They affect us all – directly or indirectly. We all lose in a society characterized by discrimination, division, distrust, intolerance, and hate.
